I will explain my undying love for Christmas Newsletters later, but for now, I leave you with the quote I have found most awesome from the letters we have gotten in the mail (or that my mother has gotten in the mail, since I read all of hers faithfully and she gets a lot more of them than we do):
From my grandfather, who once bought me the Spanos 2000 book for Christmas:
“Let’s hope we are not into the decline and fall of the American empire, but instead are on a plateau, setting the stage for a new renaissance.
Finally, and most important, we wish you love, health, wealth and happiness – and the time to enjoy them. Have a great 2007!”
. . . Unless the decline and fall has come, which could make 2007 a great year indeed.
